ALPINE ROCK
Alpine rock climbing combines the technical aspects of rock climbing and scrambling, but without the glacier travel of mountaineering objectives.
Often your adventure begins travelling along lush valley bottom approach trails, while gradually steepening terrain opens up to alpine vistas. Summits are both rewarding and exactly halfway!
Guiding Ratios
Larger more complex objectives are often guided 1:1, while smaller less technical objectives may be guided at a higher ratio. For Alpine Rock trips with minimal technical terrain, higher ratios can be accommodated. Get in touch with us to discuss your options.
Mountaineering
What is mountaineering?
What is mountaineering?
Often referred to as Alpinism or mountain climbing, mountaineering is the sport, hobby, or profession of climbing mountains. It is all about challenge and perseverance, about putting hands and feet onto rock, ice, and snow to reach a lofty summit. There, high above the cities, towns, and valley bottoms, the mountaineer can pause and enjoy the beautiful landscape that surrounds them.
Many people who would never think about ice climbing or rock climbing and its perils, enjoy hiking and mountaineering throughout the Rockies and the Interior ranges of British Columbia.
If you’re into ticking off 11,000 foot peaks in the Rockies, tackling granite spires in the Bugaboos, or lofty quartzite peaks of Rogers Pass…. we’ve got you covered.
Book NowSummer alpine ice
What is summer alpine ice climbing?
Alpine Ice extends our season year round, when winter ends its time to get out on the big ice lines of the high mountains.
In the winter, cold temperatures, difficulty of access and avalanche hazard make many of these routes unattainable. For the rest of the year they come into their own. These routes are generally longer and more remote than winter ice climbs, and often go right to the summit. The type of climbing utilizes your waterfall ice skills and more. Additional challenges may include; glacier travel, rock climbing sections(keep your crampons on and let the sparks fly), multiday ascents, and access to remote locations.
You run the whole gauntlet of climbing mediums (rock, ice, snow, mixed), that’s what makes it so awesome.
If you have a specific goal or peak in mind, please contact us to discuss details and options.
The season typically runs from June to October.
